http://eeckc.net/events/ethnic-enrichment-festival/

We perform on stage at 12:00 ( Noon ) on Sunday the 20th. Be there by 11:30 all dressed in uniform and bogu ( if you have it ) and ready to go. This is a really cool festival and I would encourage you to go all three days.  The food is amazing.  And the location has good parking for the event.  I am getting 15 tickets for performers (only) so first come first serve.

Sept 22 - 24th 2017

Scouting 500.  As many of you know, my son is in Troop 92 and I am heavily participating in scouts as a registered adult leader, troop photographer, and merit badge instructor.  Several years ago, the BSA decided to try a new event called the Scouting 500 where the scouts camp AROUND the outside of the SpeedWay over by the Legends and Friday Night and All Day Saturday the scouts engage in a bunch of extremely cool activities ( Archery, Spear throwing with an Atlatl, Scuba Diving, Zip Lines, Daisy BB Guns, etc, etc etc. ) They also have some stage activities.  We did two demonstrations last time on the concourse.  This year, we will be on-stage Saturday the 23rd at
9:00AM-9:30 and 10:30-11:00
The rest of the afternoon you can go around and look and participate in some of the activities if you want.

Here is the link:   https://www.hoac-bsa.org/scouting-500

I will probably need to know numbers ahead of time and get you on an invite list because security will be high to keep the scouts protected.  So if you can make it PLEASE contact me.

October 7th 2017

Greater Kansas City Japan Festival at Johnson County Community College.

I do not have times yet.  I'm still getting together the list of Dojos from the other styles that will participate. Remember we  do both an indoor demonstration on stage as well as an outdoor workshop. So even if you for some remarkable reason can't attend, we could really use the borrowing of your shinai for the day so that patrons can use it/them during the workshop.

October 21st - 22nd 2017

November 26, 2013

Last week we celebrated Holly's ascension to 1-Dan.  This week we will not have classes on Wednesday the 27th nor the following Saturday the 30th.  Let everyone have a good Thanksgiving and then come back the following Wednesday to start practicing again and work off some of that Turkey.

The Saturday of the 7th we'll be right back at having our celebration classes.  That day will be for Max for also getting to 1-Dan and on the 14th we'll have our celebration for Derrick.

Please come and help us celebrate their new ranks.

November 9th

Classes are going as scheduled.

The summer heat has gone but our winter isn't too cold yet.

Today we had the birthday bash for me and there were 10 people to show the love.  The next four weeks will be to celebrate the ranks earned by Ziplock, Holly, Max and Derrick in Chicago last week.

Please come and help us celebrate their new ranks.
